This October, 10 After-School All-Stars Las Vegas students traded in their sneakers for skates, team gear, and VIP access, enjoying the ultimate two-pronged Vegas Golden Knights experience through Credit One Bank’s Number One Fan initiative.
On October 6th, the experience kicked off at City National Arena, where students learned to skate at the Golden Knights’ practice facility before shopping for team gear to wear to the upcoming game. Credit One Bank also surprised the group with $15,000 in financial support, awarding each of the 10 students $750 toward their individual goals and futures, and donated the remaining $7,500 to After-School All-Stars Las Vegas to support its youth programs.
The celebration continued Thursday, Oct. 15, when students arrived at T-Mobile Arena wearing their new Golden Knights gear to cheer on the team against the Calgary Flames from a VIP suite. Special visits from Chance, the Golden Knights mascot, and the Vegas Vivas rounded out the evening, bringing the two-part experience to a memorable close.
“Championing the next generation means investing in their potential and creating opportunities that extend beyond a single experience,” said Christina Ortiz, Senior Manager of Sponsorships at Credit One Bank. “Through Number One Fan, we leverage our sports and nonprofit partnerships to introduce local students to new possibilities while providing meaningful financial support to help them pursue their goals and prepare for what’s ahead.”
Credit One Bank launched the Number One Fan initiative in spring 2023 to create unique experiences for Southern Nevada students and families through its nonprofit and sports partnerships. As a quarterly initiative, the program connects Credit One Bank’s sports partners with their nonprofit partners to create memories that will last a lifetime. Since its launch, the initiative has connected local families with organizations including the Vegas Golden Knights, Las Vegas Raiders, and Las Vegas Aviators, extending the impact of these partnerships beyond game day and into the community.
