Just a couple days after the wide release of iOS 27, Apple released the first beta of iOS 27.2. That’s not a typo: it’s iOS 27.2, not 27.1. We never got a 27.1 release—that version should be the out-of-the-box version used on the iPhone Duo.
The iOS 27.2 update adds some useful features like dual capture for FaceTime and several new languages for Siri AI, but the totally overhauled Health app isn’t among them. It appeared in early betas of the 27.2 release, but then was pulled before release. Apple still says it’s coming later this year.
Update October 19: The release candidate is out now, which means the final release will likely go out to all users on October 26 or 27.
As beta testers report new capabilities in this version, we’ll report them here.
No new Health app: The first 27.2 beta releases included the new Health, with a totally new redesign and AI-powered health insights. But iOS 27.2 beta 4 removes it, leaving behind a message that the new Health app is still coming this year.
